What sets Michelle apart from other singers and flute players is her vivacious approach to music and life. She is adept with all of her varied instruments, playing multiple instruments during most performances. Michelle’s vocals have been highlighted in reviews as being “angelic” and “ethereal”. See "Notable Quotes" on the Media - Press Quotes page.
Michelle connects to people in a way other performers are rarely willing to do. Because of her contagious enjoyment of music, others can’t help but be carried along with her. She puts so much of herself into her art that you can't help but feel her passion, regardless if it's a ballad that pulls at your heart strings or her fast fingers playing an invigorating melody.
She performs with Celtic folk band, Blackthorn. In this group, Michelle adds lead vocals, all of her flutes, as well as original compositions and arrangements for the band. Blackthorn has four albums available with the newly released "Open Skies" CD now available. Her original song "Open Skies" was recorded and released to iTunes by Blackthorn on tour in Saskatchewan.
